Pond Skimming marks the end of the ski season. It is a tradition that almost all Vermont ski resorts hold. It is an opportunity for contestants either dress in outlandish costumes or wear practically nothing at all. The water in the man made pond is usually very cold! In some cases the winner is decided by redudcing the run down area so that a skier has less and less speed to cross the "pond." In other instances, the winner is based on costume.
